The Spanish-Georgian’s No. 1 enemy slammed the featherweight champion, saying his victory over Volkanovski was based on “luck”.

It’s been a long time since Ilia Topuria and Paddy Pimblett had to be separated from a scrap in a hotel in London. However, things haven’t changed so far, with both fighters criticizing each other in interviews or press conferences.

Although they haven’t met in the octagon, both are two UFC big names, and a clash between El Matador and The Baddy would probably sell. However, Topuria is now the featherweight champion and has earned the right to fight against the best, and the Englishman hasn’t got to that level, although he has been beating opponents and keeping his undefeated status as a UFC fighter.

Pimblett will return to the octagon at UFC 304, which will take place in Manchester, England, on July 27, where he will take on Bobby Green. Topuria, meanwhile, doesn’t have an opponent yet, although he will likely face Max Holloway next for the BMF belt.

What did Pimblett say about UFC champion Topuria?

While Topuria and Holloway should agree and sign the deal for their mega clash, Pimblett slammed the Spanish-Georgian fighter, saying he’s afraid to lose to the Hawaiian and that’s why he hasn’t signed the contract yet. Moreover, Pimblett said Topuria defeated Volkanovski because he was “lucky”.

Besides that, Pimblett attacked Georgians through social media, laughing at the war with Russia, which didn’t sit well with El Matador.

On his YouTube channel, The Baddy answered several questions. He was asked who he thinks will win the fight between Topuria and Max Holloway, and he was clear.

“I think I’ve got the same as everyone. Everyone’s picking Max, you know what I mean? The hand sanitizer boy is scared to take the fight. He doesn’t want to take the fight against Max because he knows what will happen,” he said.

Topuria’s first featherweight title defense may happen on September 14 at the Sphere in Las Vegas against the Hawaiian, who was the division’s champion between 2017 and 2019. However, nothing has been confirmed, although many believe it’s a matter of time.

In addition, Pimblett accused Topuria of being lucky when he beat Alexander Volkanovski, explaining the Aussie was coming off a KO loss almost four months ago with Islam Makhachev.

“He fought Volkanovski at the perfect time. Coming back off of getting knocked out like ten weeks later. He got lucky there, to be honest,” the Briton said.
